3rd Grade Family Newsletter
Important Announcements and Information | - The class has been working hard to fill our pom pom jar and THEY DID IT!!! To celebrate they have selected an electronics party. This will take place Monday March 14, from 2:15-2:45. They are allowed to bring handheld electronics with their parents' permission. If they do not have any or aren’t able to bring it, they will be able to use their Chromebooks with school approved game sites!
- Upcoming Field Trip - there are 2 field trips in the works for next month. Look for more information in next week's friday folders!

What’s happening in class? | - We have started a new unit focusing on Geometry (shapes, perimeter, and area).
- This week's focus: Shapes and their attributes.
- We hae finished up our Inheritance & Variation of Traits Unit and hope to connect t with an upcoming field trip!.
- Now we are moving into our social studies unit on Southwest Region.
- This weeks focus: general overview on people, places, and events in the SW Regions History.
- We are starting a new Module for the next 3 weeks focusing on Animal Behavior. It focuses on stories where we learn about animals in a fun and creative way!
- Once a week we are doing a lesson with a program called second step. This week was about what to do when experiencing high levels of emotions.

At Home | - Make sure your child reads independently for at least 20 minutes every day!
- If you are interested in additional homework for your child, please reach out and I would be happy to set some things in place.
- Check out the Jeffco Public Library!
