County Chair Best Practices Guidebook

Developed by Robert Lara. A County Chair takes on the responsibilities of running the entire County Party, from top to bottom, and with this manual, we hope to help guide you through that process.

Example of Job DescriptionsPrecinct Officers

Developed by Jeff Schwein.  We have found it very helpful to be able to describe the role and duties of a precinct officer.

Welcome New Dem Postcard

Developed by Jan Hertzsch.  We run a monthly report of newly registered or moved Democrats by precinct and mail them a postcard with the precinct chair’s name, email, and phone.  This can also be used as a door hanger to save postage.

Form used by Ward Chairs to Nominate New Precinct Officers and CCC Members

This form guarantees we have all necessary information for the County Chair to approve the appointment and to enter the data into the County Precinct/CCC information pages.

Precinct Chair Basic Training: The Sixty Minute Citizen

A slide presentation with basic information on how to be a Precinct Chair with timelines and suggestions.

Video: How to vote in person in Doña Ana County

A video prepared by the Doña Ana County Board of Elections on how to use voting machines.  We find that many first time voters are afraid of looking silly or making a mistake. This is a tool to help them understand how the voting process and the voting machines work.
