Session

Adventurous Learning | Prototyping for a Maker-Centered  Educational System

Description

Casa Thomas Jefferson's  Makerspace  shares with educators a theoretical framework informed by Maker - Centered Learning, a book  written by a group of experts from the Agency by Design Initiative at Harvard Graduate School of Education.  Presenters introduce the essential concepts: the maker empowerment and sensitivity to design,  the key characteristics of the instructional designs under which maker-centered learning thrives, and lesson samples that can be tweaked and repurposed for varied learning purposes. Designed to be dynamic, meaningful and relevant, the session offers tools that can be applied anywhere learning takes place.
