About Us:

The Celtic Music Interpretive Centre (CMIC) is a renowned not-for-profit society located in the picturesque village of Judique on Cape Breton Island. Our mission is to celebrate and foster the Celtic Music and Heritage of Cape Breton Island as a living tradition through archival preservation, education, and performance. As the official Celtic Music Centre of Nova Scotia and the official cultural archives for the County of Inverness, CMIC offers a unique and immersive experience of the history, culture, and music of Cape Breton Island.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Interpretive Guide/Musician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a musician with a working knowledge of Cape Breton Island’s traditional music and history and a talent for storytelling and interpretation. This role involves leading guided tours and providing musical performances that enrich our visitors' understanding and appreciation of historical contexts through music.

Working Hours:

Regular working hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends required to accommodate operational needs.
