Who believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?[1]

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Matsemah also came among them. The LORD said to Matsemah, “From where do you come?” Matsemah answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” The LORD said to Matsemah, “Have you considered My beloved Son, Jesus, with whom I am well pleased?”[2] Then Matsemah the satan accused the LORD on account of Jesus but the LORD was silent.[3]

Then the LORD said to Jesus, “Behold, all that I have is in Your power.[4] For I have installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain. You are My Son, Today I have fathered You.[5] But the Son of God will be betrayed into the hands of sinners.[6] Get up and go; behold, the one who is betraying You is near and Your grave is assigned with wicked men.”[7] Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up, let’s go; behold, the one who is betraying Me is near!”[8] But each of them turned to his own way.[9]

And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came and immediately went up to Jesus and took and bound Him and led Him away, and handed Him over to Pilate the governor.[10]

Now, early in the morning, Judas took two of his Kittim soldiers with him and Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, “So You are the Son of God?” And Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.”[11] And while He was being accused by the Jews, He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter.[12] Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they are testifying against You?”[13] And still, like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, He did not open His mouth.[14]

And the Jews split wood (it was cedar from Lebanon[15]) and laid it on the Son of God Jesus and set out to Zion. So the two of them walked on together.[16] And as they began to ascend out of the Valley of Ben Hinnom and they came to Zion, the Jews mocked Him, saying, “Behold Jesus! Worship the image of the LORD God, as the LORD God has instructed.”[17] And they despised Him and stripped Him and put a red cloak on Him for He had no stately form or majesty that they would look at Him nor an appearance that they would take pleasure in him.[18] And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and put a reed in His right hand; and they knelt down before Him and mocked Him, saying, “rule in the midst of Your enemies. Your people will volunteer freely on the day of Your power.”[19] All of this was because they had no regard for Him.[20] And they spit on Him, and took the reed and beat Him on the head and oppressed, afflicted, and humiliated him.[21]

And when they came to Zion, they raised their eyes and looked, and behold, behind them was Barabbas; and they went and took Barabbas and said to the crowd, “Which of the two do you want me to release for you?”[22] This was because at the Passover Feast the governor was accustomed to release for the people any one prisoner whom they wanted.[23] And they said, Barabbas.” They said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said, “Crucify Him!” And they kept shouting “Crucify Him!”[24]

And when they crucified Him, above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, “THIS IS JESUS THE LORD OF LORDS.”[25] And the holy angels were standing and weeping over the cross, crying, “Who is like you among the gods? For you are the beloved of the King and the friend of the holy ones.”[26] And the angels of Mastemah were rejoicing and saying, ‘Now He will be destroyed and we shall see whether He will be found weak and whether the LORD will be found unfaithful!’[27]
