LI: recognise the multiplication equation in a word problem
Success criteria:
- I can recognise how many “groups of” are in the question
- I can multiply by 2’s and 5’s
- I can find the number question in the word question
- James has 6 pairs of socks. How many socks does he have altogether?






The answer is 12
- Jenny has 5 bags of lollies with 5 lollies in each bag. How many lollies does she have all together?
Jenny has 25
- There are 2 flowers in a garden. Each flower has 8 petals. How many petals are there all together?


There are 16 petals
- There are 5 cupcakes. Each cupcake has 3 candles. How many candles all together?





There are 15
