From the Headteacher:

Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope you had a lovely Christmas and enjoyed spending time with your children over the holidays and catching up with family and friends. Thank you for your generosity in all the many presents you bought for the staff, they were overwhelmed and very grateful.

This term is already shaping up to be a busy one with many lovely things planned for the children which includes visitors, a variety of interesting topics to learn and school trips. Please click the link below to access your child’s class topic web and letter from their teacher.

Home School Link Worker (HSLW): Andrea Gray

We are very fortunate to have a Home School Link Worker who works with us every other Tuesday for the day. Whilst parenting can be fun, it can also be challenging at times and we all sometimes need advice and support.  Andrea’s role is to support parents with any worries they may have about their children or their home circumstances. She helps to reduce barriers to learning and prevent further difficulties. She can meet parents to offer support and advice and will then work with your child if you would like her to. Andrea is there to help:

If you would like to speak to Andrea, she will have parent drop in sessions this term from 8:45-9:30am and from 2:30-3pm on Tuesdays: 21st Jan, 4th and 25th Feb, 10th and 24th March. She will be standing on the school gate on these dates so please come and say hello.

Andrea is a fantastic resource so please use her!

Last week, I did an assembly on keeping safe and it transpires that some of the children are cycling to school and not wearing a cycle helmet. If your child cycles to school, please can you ensure they wear a helmet for their own safety - it could save their life if they were to have an accident.  If they don’t have a cycle helmet, then I would suggest they walk to school for the time being until one has been obtained. Thanks for your support with this.

Other news:

Open afternoon - Monday 10th February

We would like to invite all parents to visit their children’s classes on the afternoon of Monday 10th February from 2.30pm to look at what the children have been up to so far this year

School Clubs

Author Visit - Key Stage 2

On Wednesday 22nd January we will be joined by author Matt Brown into a run a workshop with KS2 to promote the love of reading and inspire young writers at our school.

The children have the opportunity to purchase one of his recent books and this will be signed by Matt on his visit, order forms with envelopes will be coming home today.

We are still looking for minibus drivers, please see below:

Are there any willing parents out there who have time on their hands and would be happy to take a minibus driving test?  Although several of the TAs can drive the minibuses, we aren’t always able to take them from classes.  If we had a couple of parent drivers who would be willing to go on school trips that would be an amazing help to all of us.  If you are interested, please let Sammy know and we can arrange this for you.  It will not involve you paying for anything as school will cover the costs.

Please can we ask that all children have a named coat in school every day.

Please click here to see this terms lunch menu.

Please pre-order your child's meal before 9.15am each day.
