Joined the team via the acquisition of Wolt by DoorDash.
Working on the consumer mobile platform team, working on foundational work that enables other teams to build delightful consumer experiences. Topics range from platform work like targeting new Android SDK versions, implementing platform features like per-app language preferences, and developer experience & productivity topics like working with the Gradle build system, CI, and architecture topics.
As Android competence lead, I help to build and maintain the community of Android developers across various teams and promote good Android practices company-wide. I do this by organizing knowledge-sharing sessions, collecting & documenting knowledge, implementing reusable tools & processes across all the Android projects in the company, as well as helping to attract talents to grow the team through external visibility and employer branding.

Worked across the dasher and consumer apps in supporting DoorDash’s expansion into Germany.
Collaborated across multiple teams to extend existing systems and foster expansion into new markets through various efforts like – expanding payment capabilities for configurable allowed payment methods, internationalization, and localization of the consumer and partner applications.

Worked on the Mobile Infrastructure team and focused on the performance & reliability of the apps.
Developed a system for detecting performance regression as soon as possible - in development and on CI. Key performance metrics include memory leaks, app startup time, and loading time of critical screens and flows.
Worked towards a healthier and steadier release cycle by detecting these issues early.

Worked in the Playback team of the music streaming platform.
Responsibilities included implementing features and maintaining the core audio playback infrastructure and music player user interface for the Android application of SoundCloud.

trivago, Düsseldorf, Germany Nov 2017 – Nov 2019

Android Software Engineer

Worked on the team to build and maintain the trivago hotel search Android application.
Co-led architectural and technical direction for the hotel search Android application. One of the significant achievements was seeing a rewrite effort through modern architecture, using the latest tools and AndroidX libraries, and increasing the application's stability to about 99.5% crash-free sessions from 98%.
The Google Play store application was rated 4.5/5 stars and had over 50 million installs.

Worked with Andela partners on their Android on topics ranging from location-based to healthcare applications.
Facilitated workshops and mentorship sessions with other Andela developers, particularly on testing and software architecture. Recorded about 5 hours of mentorship every month.

Built and maintained the Android application for the platform from scratch. Served about 12,000 users, with about 50% of the active users using the Android application as of 2015.
Google Play store rating for the app was 4.2/5, and there were about 10000 downloads.
Listed at the Google Developer Summit, 2015, in Lagos, Nigeria, as one of the ‘great’ applications built in Africa.
