Next International Conference Venue

According to conventional practice, the 11th International Conference of Museums for Peace will be held in 2023.

As INMP will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2022, Advisory Committee member Professor Syed Sikander Mehdi, among others, have suggested that some sort of commemoration event should be held in 2022. I hope that the new Executive Board, which will be established by the election later this year, will consider it separately from the next international conference.

 I invited five INMP Board members to an interim International Conference Venue Selection Committee from among the members of the current board members. The committee’s task is to develop the procedure and timeline for selecting the hosting site/venue for the 11th International Conference of Museums for Peace. The working Committee will be filled from among the incoming board members and formally launched in early 2021. It will then solicit applications for the next conference venue through the first half of 2021. The committee will narrow down the list of potential sites, conduct a feasibility study of the nominated sites and make a recommendation to be approved by the Executive Board by Q3 of 2021.
