
ADF Engine Skid Plate Installation – 2025 Subaru Forester

Tools Required
- 12mm socket
- 13mm socket
- Screwdriver
- Torque wrench
Removal of Factory Skid Plate
- Using a 12mm socket, remove the factory plastic engine cover (2 bolts at the front, 2 at the rear).
- Remove all plastic snap clips securing the factory plastics. Set clips and bolts aside for reinstallation.
Preparation of ADF Skid Plate
- Attach the side protectors to the ADF skid plate using the provided button-head bolts and flange nuts.
- Ensure all hardware is secure but not overtightened.
Installation of ADF Skid Plate
- Position the ADF skid plate under the vehicle.
- Insert the two provided spacers at the front mounting locations.
- Use the retaining star washers to hold the spacers in place.
- Slide the front nose of the skid plate between the remaining factory plastic trim.
- Start by loosely installing the rear mounting bolts using the factory hardware.
- Install the front bolts with the spacers, keeping them finger-tight for alignment.
- Reinstall the plastic snap clips into the front nose section of the skid plate.
- Torque all bolts (front and rear) to 12.9 ft-lbs.
- Reattach the side plastic trim using the factory snap clips.
Installation Complete
