Summer Program Intern

Job Summary:
The Summer Program Intern is responsible for coaching and mentoring youth, fostering positive role models, and teaching golf and life skills in a safe, fun, and engaging camp setting. Interns play a key role in maintaining First Tee – Northwest Arkansas's strategic goals and may assist with additional chapter projects as needed.
We seek self-motivated individuals who can work independently and as part of a team, supervise others, and engage young people through active learning. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, enthusiasm for youth development, and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming & Coaching
- Ensure top-quality program delivery by assisting with First Tee classes and on-course playing opportunities.
- Teach basic golf skills to participants (ages 4-18) using fun, activity-based lesson plans.
- Integrate First Tee Life Skills Curriculum with golf instruction to mentor and develop youth.
- Supervise and build meaningful relationships with program participants.
- Deliver developmentally appropriate activities to meet youth needs.
- Assist with program setup, registration, instruction, and breakdown.
- Create a fun and engaging environment for participants to learn golf and life skills.
- Support additional supplemental programs, family events, tournaments, and learning opportunities.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed for all participants, coaches, volunteers, and parents.
- Maintain and organize golf equipment and instructional areas.
- Represent First Tee – Northwest Arkansas at community and nonprofit events to promote programs.

- Mentorship Experience: Guiding and coaching young participants in a youth development organization.

- Capable of handling complex situations with confidence and sound judgment.
- Works well both independently and within a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, transport, or roll equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
- Must successfully pass a background check and complete Safe Sport training.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Compensation: $11/hour
- Location: First Tee – Northwest Arkansas
- Internship Dates: June 3 – August 7 (flexible dates available)
