Goal: To understand the meaning of Jesus’ death

Retelling of the story: Have students share parts of the story that they remember.  Keep adding details and see how much that they can retell of the story.  Ask questions to help them remember some important parts of the story.  

Drawing the story to a close

Jesus is the Servant King and the Passover Lamb.  He knew he had to die to rescue us. His body was broken and his blood was poured out on the cross so we could be saved.

Bible Memory Verse

The Son of Man must be killed and after three days rise again. (Mark 8:31)

Craft: Placemat

Create a placemat to eat the last supper on. Take a piece of bread or cracker and some juice and have them remembering the price Jesus paid and what they symbolize.  The body and blood of Jesus.

Praying about the story

Pray aloud, thanking God that Jesus’ body was broken and his blood poured out on the cross so we could be saved.  Thank God that Jesus is the Servant King and the Passover Lamb who died in our place to rescue us from our sin.  Ask the children to pray praises to God, thanking him that Jesus died in our place to rescue us from our sin.
