BES PTA October Meeting Minutes
October 9th 7:30/7:45am Media Center
*Sorry I was late there were multiple times printed so I came at 7:45! - I missed anything before Eleanor’s update if you can remember
In attendance: Sara Barta, Lauren Griffiths, Stephanie Pope, Alexa Newsome, Eleanor Dake, Jon Hawkins, Ms. Jones, Ansley Thompson, Elaine Marino, and Ashley Miller
Eleanor/ Fundraiser Update:
- Small fundraisers coming up- photographer mini-sessions & Garnish and Gather food meal delivery
- 2nd semester push for brick fundraiser
- Raise Craze raised 17.5k to school, goal was 25k
Sara/Business Outreach
- Sponsorship banner- last year we printed each sponsor on both the front and back, this year we are doing one side, so have double the real estate!
- Raised $20,000 in kind (amazing!)
$10,000 to Foundation
Fall Festival received $1,700 in kind donations
Lots of return sponsors (amazing!)
Jon/ Budget
- Shifting to asking for less money in budget, making up for it with business outreach and in kind donations to bridge the gap
- Completed audit!!
Sara/ President
- November meeting will be virtual
- Approved minutes (Noy motion, Alexa 2nd)
Ms. Jones/ Principal Update
- School is being “rebranded”
- Will get new paint exterior and interior
- Exterior window paint
- Met with vendors and discussing maybe deck furniture and window clings
Rebecca/ Communication Newsletter
Alexa/ Hospitality
- Principal Month- loving on Ms. Jones all month long
- Custodian Appreciation Day was October 2nd and they provided a breakfast and gift cards to our lovely custodians
- Upcoming- Coach Day and Crossing Guard Appreciation Day
- Thanksgiving Luncheon for staff coming up
Noy/Events
- Fall Ball is approaching November 5th, will share with families after fall break
- Lakeside Hope volunteers coming
- Staff will help
- Permission slip to get into dance
- Need D.J. – Alexa sharing contact
- Alexa to make photo backdrop for entrance to dance ( spectacular!)
Lauren/ Communication- Friday Folders
- Save any big information for after fall break so it doesn’t get lost in the shuffle
Ansley & Stephanie/ Fall Festival
- Jr. ROTC contact, BES family, amazing with volunteers!
- 2 face painters this year
- 4 staff in dunk tank
- Quick balloon designs to keep line short
- Presold 80 wristbands, 114 day of (about same as 2024)
- $345 less profit (admission was less this year)
- About broke even
- Super taco made $900. Kona $500
- GREAT EVENT!
Elaine/ Building and Grounds
- Leaves
- Time block things
- Teacher parking lot needs help
- Possibly use ROTC for next clean up

Tim & Jeff/ Safe Routes to School
- New school signs, sidewalks connecting new neighborhood to existing sidewalk, road signs (Great work!)
