Partner has opened and you have a really good hand, but you have a worthless doubleton in a side suit.  Blackwood is not a good idea in this situation.  Learn how to show controls (aces and kings in side suits) before Blackwood so that you don’t get too high if the slam isn’t there.

The auction has gone 1D - 1H - 1NT - ??.  As responder, you hold:  xx AQJ53 KJ2 xxx.  You are concerned about spades playing in a notrump contract.  Partner doesn't have four hearts, but she might have three.  How can you find out?  A bidding convention called New Minor Forcing will give you the info you need.

Partner has opened 1 of a suit, you respond with a second suit and partner bids a third suit.  You have an opening hand, but you’re not sure which contract will be best.  Use the Fourth Suit Forcing convention to find the best spot.

Who should take this class:  Intermediate to advanced players.

There will not be a text used for this class.  Handouts will be emailed prior to the class session.
