Course Description:

Overall Description: Grade 4 social studies uses the Pearson My World Social Studies textbook which focuses on geography, history, government and the economy. Students will have the opportunity to think critically about the world around them while building geography skills and an understanding of the world they live in. The essential questions will allow for students to establish personal meaning and connect to the content in the chapter.

Assessment:

Formative, summative, and pre-assessments in the form of projects, quizzes, homework assignments, presentations, quizzes, tests, and quarter exams contribute to the final quarter grade. In addition, students will be assessed for deportment following the DOP STARS Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLRS) which are Spiritual, Truthful, Active, Responsible and Studious.
