TSS Open House

Student Group: Taiwanese Student Society #2369

Description: The Taiwanese Student Society (TSS) Open House will be a vibrant and welcoming event aimed at showcasing Taiwanese culture and fostering connections within the AAPIDA community on campus. People attending the event will have a chance to explore and experience traditional Taiwanese arts and crafts, as well as food service from local Asian restaurants near campus. A key feature of the event will be a presentation about the Taiwanese Student Society, where attendees can learn more about the organization's mission, upcoming events, and the ways in which TSS fosters cultural exchange and creates a supportive environment for all students.

PRSSA Kickoff

Description: At our Kickoff event, we will describe the purpose of PRSSA and its member benefits. We will also build community through speed networking, and executive board members will share their experiences in the organization. Finally, we'll host the national PRSSA president to welcome new members! Food and drink will be provided to create a relaxed environment.

Mahjong Club Fall Kickoff

Description: We will welcome students to join us for our first Mahjong Club meeting of the Fall semester. Here we will host a teaching workshop to teach new players how to play mahjong, as well as have concurrent free play sessions open to mahjong enjoyers of all skill levels and backgrounds. Food and drinks will be provided.

Welcome Back Random Dance Play

Student Group: K-Move #4340

Description: The purpose of the event is to welcome new and returning members to K-Move as the academic year commences and encourage attendees to bond with one another over their love of K-Pop dancing. A random dance play (RPD) involves playing short excerpts of popular K-pop songs with people arranged in a circle, and those who know the choreography to a particular song are encouraged to come to the center of the circle. The Welcome Back RPD is a largely social event and strives to develop greater community across the UMN student body.

Dog Toy Making with APO!

Flower Pot Painting and Deforestation Awareness

Description: The Net Impact Deforestation Awareness Meeting is focused on educating students about the environmental, social, and economic consequences of deforestation. Our goal for this event is to help members learn more about the importance of preserving forests and to connect this issue to broader themes of sustainability and environmental responsibility. After a short presentation, members will participate in an interactive activity. Tote bags will be provided for students to paint and personalize.

BRASA Welcome Event

Description: We will have a typical welcome event for BRASA! Welcoming back everyone who is already a part of our community and hopefully bringing in a lot more people, regardless of whether they're Brazilian or not. We will talk, introduce our officers, give a preview of the year ahead, and invite everyone to our second event and other upcoming events. We will spend some time talking with everyone after our presentations, and people trickle out until we eventually clean up and leave.

UPS Ice Cream Social

Description: The Undergraduate Physiology Society (UPS) will host an Ice Cream Social as our first event of the academic year. This casual, drop-in event will offer free ice cream and a welcoming space for students to meet and interact with fellow physiology majors, prospective members, and club officers. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about upcoming UPS events, our mission, and how to get involved—all in a fun, low-pressure setting designed to encourage connection and conversation.

Description: Swing and Sundaes is a social interactive event where attendees will be able to enjoy frozen treats & learn some simple social dance steps (in the styles of East Coast Swing and Hustle). The event will be led by the officers of the UMN Ballroom Dance Club, with current members of the club encouraged to participate as well.

UMNFSC 2025 - 2026 Information Meeting

Description: Mixed & Mingling is designed to help new and returning students build community in a vibrant, joyful setting. held outdoors in Superblock on Thursday, September 4, this event invites multiracial, multiethnic, and transracial adoptee students to connect, play, and celebrate the start of a new academic year.

The evening will feature a cultural potluck where students are encouraged to bring and share their favorite family or cultural dishes. There will be games of beach volleyball and basketball, chill music, and plenty of opportunities to meet other students and learn more about MRSU's mission. It’s a come-as-you-are space made to foster joy, identity, and belonging in the heart of campus.

Quadball 101

Brains and Brawn - The Importance of Inclusive Gym Culture

Description: Brains and Brawn will host an educational series of presentations open to all University of Minnesota students on September 8th, 2025, from 4–6 PM in the President’s Room at Coffman Memorial Union. The purpose of this event is to educate students on the importance of supportive gym communities and to address the psychological, social, and physical impacts of gym culture. The main part of this program will include short presentations led by club gym goers who will present research-based insights on how community support contributes to long-term fitness success, the ways in which toxic gym culture and stereotypes can be harmful, and the strong connection between community, mental health, and physical wellness. The presentations will also explore how inclusive and welcoming fitness spaces can help break down barriers that prevent students from pursuing a healthier lifestyle. To ensure a welcoming atmosphere, food from Chipotle will be catered, along with Fairlife protein shakes for attendees. This presentation marks the first club event of the academic year and is meant to equip students with the right tools to take charge of their physical health right in the beginning of the semester.  

HMN Kickoff Celebration

Bingo & Vision Board Craft Night

Description: Bingo & Vision Board Craft Night is a social and wellness-focused event. The event will feature two main activities: vision board crafting and several rounds of bingo. The first half of the event will include vision board crafting: Students will make a digital vision board with their aspirations for the upcoming school year through Canva. The second half of the event will be Bingo, which will consist of each participant receiving a bingo card and chips to cover the called numbers. A designated caller will draw and announce numbers, and participants will mark their cards accordingly. Winners will be recognized for completing classic bingo patterns such as a full row, four corners, or blackout, depending on the round.

CESP Scoops N Service

Whether you’re a returning member or new to CESP, this is the perfect opportunity to meet new friends, enjoy plenty of ice cream (including dairy-free options), and relax with yard games in the sun.

We’ll also be making tie blankets to donate to a local homeless shelter — a hands-on way to give back while connecting with others in a meaningful way.
