Scene 1

Narrator 1: Do you want to hear the story of Henry VIII?

Narrator 2: Yes! I would love to!

Narrator 3: I know a few facts as well that I can add.

Narrator 1: To start, Henry VIII was born in 1491. As a young man, he loved hunting and went often.

Narrator 3: He was crowned king in 1509. He was a keen sportsman and enjoyed jousting.

Narrator 2: Wuah, that sounds interesting. I heard he married his first wife, Catherine of Aragon in 1509. They were both Catholics.

Narrator 1: I also heard he was very clever, as he spoke 4 languages, wrote poetry and music.

Scene 2

NARRATOR -HENRY VIII IS THE KING OF THE UNITED KINGDOM. CATHERINE IS THE FIRST WIFE OF HENRY. IN THIS SCENE, HENRY AND HIS FIRST WIFE, CATHERINE, FIGHT.

HENRY-I want a son.

CATHERINE-Omg I can't have anymore kids! Why can't you just understand that?

HENRY-I hate you!

CATHERINE-How dare you say that?

HENRY-I want a divorce.

CATHERINE WAS IN SHOCK-Why would you do that?

HENRY-Because I want a son!!

CATHERINE SCREAMS - Well, it is not going to happen!

HENRY-Ok, I'm going to ask the pope for the right to divorce you.

CATHERINE ANGRY- Please don't do that, you're such a shame for my family.

HENRY WITH A MAD FACE- Good for you, I don't care!

CATHERINE EYE ROLLS.

Scene 3

Narrator: Mauro

Henry: Simón

Pope: Antonieta

Narrator: Henry VIII has tried to divorce his wife but the pope is against it.

Henry: Pope, I have been married to my wife for such a long time, but I don't want to be with her anymore and would like to divorce her.

Pope: I am truly sorry to hear that from you but you will not be able to divorce her.

Henry: What is the reason behind that limitation that is being forced on me?

Pope: The Christian church does not allow divorces, no matter the implications.

Henry: Why should I be expected to follow those rules that are detrimental to my interests?

Pope: Those rules are enforced by the church and you cannot choose between following them or not.

Henry: You are not giving me any options, I will have to leave the church to divorce my wife.

Pope: I will not allow you!

Henry: You have no choice in this matter!

Pope: Why would you leave the church if you can happily stay with your wife?

Henry: I am not happy with her, I will not stay with her any longer!

Pope: Then what religion will you follow?

Henry: I will not follow any religion, as I will make a new one: the Church of England.

Pope:  (Quietly cries in a corner)

Narrator: And That is the story of how Henry VIII created the holy church of England to divorce his wife.

Scene 4

Narrator : Henry then managed to divorce Catherine and found another woman to marry: Ann Boleyn. But soon after Henry spots Ann with another man and gets very angry.

Henry VIII (shouting angrily) :  Stop, lady, right there with your boyfriend.

Ann Boleyn : He isn’t my boyfriend, he’s my friend that I invited over. Please believe me!

Henry VIII :  Don't you lie to me or else you are a dead woman.

Ann Boleyn : Try me. I dare you. Let’s see if you can bear killing me then.

Henry VIII : Guards, bring this nasty woman to the beheading room.

Ann Boleyn : Please, NOOO, I beg you.

Henry VIII : No one dares the King! You wanted it, you got it.

Narrator : Ann is very regretful for what she said but not Henry for what he did.

Scene 5

Narrator: After Ann Boleyn is beheaded, Henry VIII asks Jane Seymour to marry him.

 

Henry: Hello! You are very pretty. Do you want to marry me ?

 

Jane: YES of course!

 

Narrator: Some months after their wedding, Henry and Jane have a son together.

 

Jane: Ohhhh! Our baby boy is beautiful.

 

Henry: We will name him Edward.

 

Jane: Sounds good.

 

Narrator: A few weeks after, Jane sadly passes away from an infection.

 

Henry: Oh no! Jane! I loved her!

 

Narrator: Henry gets into a very big depresion.

Scene 6

NARRATOR: Alara

HENRY VIII: Lou

ANNE OF CLEVES: Kira

NARRATOR : A few years after, king Henry VIII  saw a painting of a beautiful lady called Anne of Cleves.

 

HENRY VIII : « Oh, what a gorgeous lady, I need to meet her, I shall invite her for tea ! »

 

NARRATOR : As days went by, Anne of Cleves received a letter from the one and only king, Henry VIII.

 

ANNE : « Dear God! it can’t be! a letter from Henry VIII, I wonder what he has to say! »

ANNE: "he wants to meet and marry me!" This is perfect!

NARRATOR : Anne arrived days later…

 

HENRY VIII :« Wow ! You look uglier in person ». I can’t wait to own her land. *naughty laugh*                                                                     

ANNE: "how rude of you"i shall marry him for his fortune. *naughty laugh*

NARRATOR: And the two decided to get married.

NARRATOR: They never consummated the marriage and finally he divorced her. And they didn't live happily ever after.

Scene 7

Julia, Lucca, y Valentina

Narrator: Lucca- After divorcing Anne of Cleves, Henry VIII meets Catherine Howard, a young Catholic woman. After the wedding, Henry discovers that Catherine had many boyfriends when she was younger. Being so jealous, he decides to behead her.

 

Lucca priest: Henry VIII you want to marry Catherine Howard.

Henry VIII Valentina: I do.

Lucca priest: Catherine Howard do you want to marry Henry VIII.

Catherine Howard Julia: I do.

Priest: I now pronounce you man and wife.

 

Narrator Lucca: Three months later Henry and Catherine Howard had an argument about Catherine Howard's past love affair.

Henry VIII: How could you not tell me anything!

Catherine Howard Julia: I didn't know that if I married you, I would have to forget my past.

Henry VIII: I will behead you

Catherine Howard Julia: Nooo

Narrator Lucca: Henry VIII is ready to behead Catherine Howard because he says she betrayed him by having boyfriends before their relationship.

Scene 8

Narrator 1 Lucca: Henry VIII married again, but then died in 1547 at the age of 55.

Narrator 2 Teun: His son, Edward, became king at the age of 9 but died 6 years later.

Narrator 3 Léo: Then, Henry’s daughters became queen.

Narrator 4 Sandro: First, Mary Ist, a Catholic and the daughter of Catherine of Aragon ruled for 5 years.

Narrator 5 Alexa: Finally, Elisabeth Ist, the daughter of Ann Boleyn, ruled for 45 years.
