Hello Parents,                                                                                                       3/14/2020

We find ourselves in a unique situation. John Lennon said, “Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.”   Both Mrs. Sailer and myself are here for you.  We will get through this together.  I am sure there will be hiccups along the way.

We have placed work in Google Classroom.  Below, I will share the class codes for the Google Classrooms.  Our students use Google Classroom every single day and are very familiar with how it works.

In my class, students will be asked to read every day and respond to a central question or fill out a graphic organizer. This week they need to have a Fiction Book.  They will have a grammar sentence to correct each day. There is a set of poetry vocabulary they should begin to study on Quizlet.  Lastly, there will be a writing assignment about a blizzard they will create. The writing is broken into days. The steps for each one of these assignments are listed in Google Classroom under the instructions for each assignment. All of the work assigned should be familiar to the students.

Epic Books is something we use daily in class. I wrote to them and asked if they would offer a free time period for students at home.  They have offered three free months of  use on their site if you create a family account.  I will be sharing that information later with you on how to join if you are interested.  I would also encourage you to utilize the Library in Little Egg Harbor to find books if you need them.

In my math class, you will see 5 days of work posted.  Most assignments have direct links that the kids can just click on.  To get onto the math textbook online, I have included directions on the 5 day classroom post.  To get onto Happy Numbers and Reflex they should log into Clever.com first.  Use my email lsailer@lehsd.org and your child’s pin to get onto XtraMath.

In science this week, your child will be completing an animal eye project.  The directions and link are in my Google Classroom.  On Friday I sent home poster paper with each child.

Thanks in advance,

Keith DeWitt and Lorie Sailer
