Exact start locations

54 km start Swayambhu

It is top of the Swayambhu Stupa to the south. Due to the nature of the place, we will not have a big banner etc, but will have a small table and standing banner so you know who we are.

How to get to the start

There is no organised transport to Swayambhu. Please take a microbus, taxi to the start locations. The start at Swayambhu is at the top of the stupa to the south. 54 km may choose to climb the steps or go via back road entry. Expect to pay Rs 200 to guard for entry ticket at the counter if not from Nepal.

For 34 km we will arrange a microbus or taxis from Thamel. Details will be mailed to you.

There is no huge race pack, but you will receive:

You can collect your number on Thursday or Friday between 3pm and 7pm at OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CENTRE. If you cannot make these times, have a friend pick up your number, or arrange to collect at the start.

Water & food on the course

A mail will follow with GPS tracks, your chest number etc, information about checkpoints, food water etc. Bring a couple of energy snacks with you, but you should be able to complete the course with checkpoint provisions only.

Note about “Jar” water

Some water will be provided in 19 litre jars rather than 1 litre bottles. This water is the same ‘mineral’ water as in the bottles.

We will give you a large plastic bag with your bib number to put your finish bag in to keep it clean and safe.

Give your bag at the start. It will be taken to the finish. If you drop out, then you can come to the finish point to collect (Boudha Stupa) or collect it from Outdoor Adventure Centre on Sunday after 12pm.

At the start there are some toilets, ask for directions.

Toilets at CP2, CP4, CP5, CP6 - ask checkpoint staff.

No toilet at CP3!

Emergencies and accidents

If you have any problem, please call one of the following numbers printed on your race bib number.

If you do not turn up at a checkpoint at the time expected we will call you on the phone number you provided. If you do not answer, we will send a search team to look for you. If they do not find you, we call and inform local police and army.

Lost near the finish?

The last 2 km are through an urban area. If you lose the ribbons or marking, you can simply ask for Boudhanath Stupa or Boudha Stupa and go directly.

Course marking

Look out for orange or pink ribbons, plus some orange dots or spray arrows. Markers will be reflective for the last 10 km.

After the race

We finish at the hotel mentioned above.

There will be a shower made available, and a room to change in. Please be quick so others can use.

Included in entry is a recovery meal - a soup or noodles etc. At the finish line, you will be given a token. Please give your token to the staff in the hotel restaurant. Water is provided, but please pay for other drinks and food yourself.

Please pack a small towel in your race bag and bring to the start, in the pink plastic bag provided with your race bib number on it.

Prize giving is 15:30... please stay for this if you can.

To return home, you can find a taxi outside Boudha Gate, or use motorbike taxi via smartphone apps Tootle or Pathao.
