Te Wera Camp 20-22 October

Dear Whānau

Our Year 6 camp to Te Wera is getting closer. EXCITING! Please read this carefully and contact me for any further clarification if needed.

Gear

A gear list is included. Be prepared for warm, cold and wet weather. We will print this list and give this to the children next week.

Parent helpers

Thank you to all who have offered to help full time on camp. We have 10 adults coming with us and 48 students. Parents who are transporting children to and from camp will receive a transport volunteer agreement. Parents who are transporting children can park in the school car park on Wednesday morning.  We will have cones out. We ask that everyone walks into the grounds. Gear is to go into the hall.

Day 1 food

Both students and parents need to bring a hearty morning tea, lunch, and an extra snack or two. Ensure you also bring a good drink bottle filled with water. A refillable drink bottle is very important for the 3 days.  We also ask that all students bring a small container of home baking to share. Please pack this into their bag. If your child has special dietary requirements please label this so we keep it aside for them.

Medication

All medication that is to be taken on camp must be in a named container with directions clearly written. This needs to be given to Wendy Parkes on Wednesday morning. Students who require asthma inhalers must have them with them at all times and ensure they are named.

Visits to camp

We welcome visitors to camp. You are welcome to join your child in their activities and have a look around the camp. Only our full time adults are able to stay overnight.

Wednesday 20 October

We hope to make an early start at camp with our activities and would like all children to be at school by 8.15 on the day leaving for camp - it does take some time to pack and get organised before leaving.

Camp fees

Thank you for paying the camp fee, $115.00.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us if there are any issues with this.

It is really important that if your child is unwell they do not attend camp. If they become unwell at camp we will contact you immediately.

COVID-19

If we are still at Alert Level 2 we will adhere to Level 2 Education Outside The Classroom regulations.

We are looking forward to having an amazing camp with your tamariki.
