Morning Programme is part of our Oral Language programme in the Middle Room.  We try to improve our listening and speaking skills through a variety of interesting tasks.

To enable you to improve your Oral Language skills through morning Programme, you need to be well prepared each week. Ask for help, in advance, if you need it. Try to practice speaking clearly and confidently at home, to keep your presentation interesting.  Remember to think about who, what, where, when, why and how when you are preparing your talk. It might be a good idea to have your talk written down on paper or little cards if you like so that you can refer to this when you are talking. Doing this will help with your confidence.

Over the year everyone in our class will show huge improvement with their oral language skills due to all the practice you are going to be doing with morning programme.

Morning programme begins in week two..

Remember – enjoy and have fun!

My Choice

Bring along anything that you would like to share with the class. For example it could be personal news or a show and tell item.

How to

Share with the class an explanation of how to do or make something. eg. how to play a game, how to do a basic science experiment, how to make origami. Present this in anyway you like, as long as you can talk to your presentation.

Science experiment

Show us or explain a science experiment. You could bring the equipment along to demonstrate to us or you could play us a video you have found on the internet. Whatever interests you!

Growing

This topic is anything to do with plants or growing them! Share a growing tip with the class. You could make a slide or picture about tips and tricks to help plants grow well. You could talk about your favourite plant or flower and how it grows.

Recipe

Choose one of your favourite recipes. Teach the class the steps you take to make this recipe. Bring along a video of you or someone else making this or even bring along a tasty treat for the class to try! You do not have to bring any food to school so don’t feel pressured!

Mystery Bag/Box

Bring along a mystery item in a box or bag. Describe it to the class and let us guess what you have inside. (Don’t worry if you don’t have a box or bag, you can use one at school).
