Cross Country-Girls

This is a fall sport for girls who want work hard and feel the satisfaction of setting a goal and achieving it in a supportive team atmosphere.  Beginning athletes need to be able to run a mile without stopping and have a willingness to improve.  The girls

Equestrian Team

The Verona Equestrian Team is a club open to both experienced equestrians with show experience and those with no experience

but interested in learning more about horses. To compete as a member of the team at WIHA (Wisconsin interscholastic

Horse Assoc.) shows, a student must have access to a horse and at least one year of show experience. The team also

welcomes students interested in learning more about horses and horseback riding who can assist at shows. Some of the club

activities include attending Midwest Horse Fair events, trail rides (with own horses), and other educational clinics.

Ski/Snowboard (NON-FUNDED)

The VAHS Ski and Snowboard Team is open to any student who loves to ski or snowboard. Previous race experience is

helpful but not necessary. The season runs for approximately six weeks and starts after winter break(1st week in Jan.).

Practices are every Wed. night and races are every Monday night at Tyrol Basin. The cost to join is $100. You are responsible

for your lift pass and equipment costs. You will become a better skier or rider and have a lot of fun in the process. Look for an informational meeting in the fall - usually in October.

had many successful seasons in the Big 8 Conference,  and generally field 3 teams (Freshman, JV and Varsity) The season

starts in the middle of March and we practice or play 5-6 days a week in the spring.

Step Team

Stepping is a form of percussive dance in which the participants entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex

rhythms and sounds through footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps. It's often performed by college sororities and fraternities

 The step team here at VAHS is famous for rocking it out at the Pep Rally and the Multicultural Showcase!

Tennis-Girls

Verona Girls’ Tennis is held in the late summer and fall and has a varsity team of 10 players and a JV team of 10 players.

In addition, we have 4-6 girls who play exhibition matches. Players should have tennis playing experience and be able to

compete right away as the first few days of the season consist of a selection process. Once the season starts, athletes are

required to be at practice every day in the summer, every day after school and on some Saturdays.
