School districts should have a shared vision and strategy in place for compliance and adherence to student data and privacy laws. Â This includes providing appropriate training to all staff, enforcement of policies when working with vendors and external entities, transparency in who those vendors and entities are, and what data the district is collecting in addition to CDE. School Administration and Staff are responsible for communicating with students and parents about data collected and used, especially from online tools in addition to the district database.
