Greg Tang has created his curriculum and program to be a holistic approach to teach and reinforce concepts. He believes number sense and being able to represent/think about numbers in different ways is so important. The goal is to help students make sense of math.

Tang Math focuses on the C-P-A Progression for Teaching & Learning:

• Concrete 

•  Manipulatives: Unifix Cubes, Base Ten Blocks/Place Value Chips

• Pictorial 

• Different visual representations that can be more or less concrete

• Abstract 

•  Learning an algorithm, using symbols, expressions and equations
