The Northeast Harbor Fleet
Operational Details
Emergency Action Plan- Our suggested plans for an emergency on the water.
Launch Service & Moorings- Steve Lawson and Tucker Charles will be working from 0830 - 1700 daily. They also have a wide breadth of tools and repair skills to assist you in a pinch.
The launch driver will have a yellow flag and a red flag for each competitor's boat on Friday morning. Yellow is for accepting a penalty and red is for protest. Keep them with you for the next day. There are more flags on board your RC signal boat if you lose one. No flag needs to be flown for a broken boat. Please get on VHF 65 after that race and the boatswain will attend to your needs.
On Friday afternoon the launch driver will have your team's blue wristbands for the ferry and the party at the Islesford Dock Restaurant on Little Cranberry. If you take one and have not paid for it, your skipper will be made responsible for chasing you down. David Schoeder and Steve Madeira will have additional wristbands for guests. Remember this is an open bar and a raw bar at the restaurant so the staff needs to know who is a part of the regatta.
Moorings in Gilpatrick Cove are all identified with a blue nylon streamer. It's easy if you remember which ball number you left from in the morning but it is ok to jump on any mooring with a blue streamer at the end of the day.
RC Signal Boat has the following items on board for competitors to have access to; a Swim ladder; an AED for the over-excited; Basic first aid supplies and cold packs; A head with TP; Laminated Race Charts and Laminated Race Mark Descriptions. The 'Rock Boats' will also have first aid kits and coolers with drinking water refills. Don't ever hesitate to let us know how we can assist you during your day of sailing. It's ok to ask us.
Laminated Charts and Mark Descriptions are also available on every boat and inside the front door of the Fleet House.
Kelsea Squires and Franny Charles operate and manage the Fleet. Seek them out for assistance.
Trash and recycling- The Fleet is a “Pack it in-Pack it out” Facility. We are trying very hard to encourage folks to not use disposable items and to have a better sense of minimizing our impact on the environment. We do have a ‘clynk’ recycling station in the Fleet House for cans and bottles to be redeemed. Otherwise, please deal appropriately with your own waste products.
Our drink glasses and plates will be washed by the IOD volunteers who are committed to upholding these principles.
The bathrooms are on the south side of the property in a shed.
Parking is available in our parking lot at the corner of Maple Ln and South Shore Rd. It’s ok to park in the street as well but please try to pull in very tightly and avoid parking on the big curve right in front of the Fleet house property. If you are staying within walking distance, consider doing just that.
Wifi- New Fleet wifi 5G has a password of fleetwifi
