Whole Foods COVID-19 cases
Updated automatically every 5 minutes

This is a list created by Whole Worker to track all COVID-19 cases at Whole Foods’ locations, based on news reporting and independent reporting from team members since April 1, 2020. Updated every couple of days!

All cases are told to team members initially through voicemail, but has recently switched to a texting system. Due to keeping anonymous, affected stores without any media sources are not 100% verified unless they provide proof of said text or voicemails to Whole Worker. We strongly encourage these team members to report to their local media outlets to alert the public. We never ask for identifying information of the team members who report to us on these cases, nor do we ask for the affected team members’ personal information, such as name, department and position.

All affected stores are still open for business. Whole Foods’ response to these positive cases include quarantining the affected team members and increasing sanitation practices.

Whole Foods does not have a current policy in place to inform the community. COO Jason Buechel addressed this issue to team members internally:

“As a grocer, we are categorized as an essential business by the federal government and will continue to operate our stores to serve our communities. Because of the thorough nature of our daily enhanced cleaning procedures, we are not being advised to close our stores when notified of a confirmed diagnose of COVID-19.[1]”

As of October 1, 2020, Amazon reported over 19,000 employees from across Amazon and Whole Foods have been infected with COVID-19. Currently, there’s no additional information on outbreaks or the employees who have died working for the company[2].
