Meeting of the Library Board of the Hamilton Public Library

March 12, 2025 - 4:15 p.m.

Absent: Lynne Kvinnesland (Vice President), Diane Finch (President, Friends of the Library)

  1. Village Liaison’s report
  1. Meeting with Village re: Repairs – Travis and Liza have asked that Sami communicate to the village that when repairs are made to please notify them (Travis or Liza) when the work is complete or what next steps are.
    Discussion of the library budget – no decision has been made yet. Sami will update Travis this Friday after their next village meeting.
    Sami has not yet asked the village if the library can hire work and send the bill to the village (like the locks, for example) – she will ask at an upcoming meeting

  1. Programs (previous & upcoming): officially into tax season – TCE is free tax help for seniors; make your own valentine’s was popular; return of community inclusion program; Shape Note singing group is now an open program
  2. Circulation: Feb is shortest month, however circ was higher than each of the last three months; year-over-year DVD circ is up; highest month of ice skate circ; New Book checkouts vs. new title purchases over last 3 months shows high Adult Fiction circ, high Juvenile Easy circ, and popularity with graphic novels for Juvenile and YA.

            > Preparing for a potential resolution in the future (likely before May)
  2. Tax Levy Increase letter sent to HCS
