What is the Great Barrier Reef? It is as the name says a reef, a great reef at that. Why is this such a great Reef in the world? Because it is the biggest reef in the world.Where is this majestic landmark? it is off the north of Australia. This beautiful reef is one of the seven wonders of the world but there are problems forming at the Great Barrier Reef and that's what I will be telling you about today, these are some of them climate change ,crown of thorn starfish and poaching I will be telling you about climate change first.
Climate change is a massive problem at the Great Barrier Reef because the water because the temperature of the water is hottest this reef has ever been. The water is getting to hot for the coral if you have seen the movie finding nemo they filmed it at the Great Barrier Reef, the coral was colourful and full of life but now the coral is bleaching and turning white and dying by the time 2050 the coral probably won't exist unless we help prevent this problem by stop using fossil fusses and greenhouse gases.
Crown of Thorn Starfish. These little greedy guts eat and disconnect the coral, but luckily people are helping prevent this problem. People are poisoning these little enemies of coral but this is not an easy process it is very time consuming and these greedy guts need to be stopped. It doesn't help the coral that these creatures have quite the appetite.
Poaching people, like dentists, are taking clownfish from the Great Barrier Reef and putting them in a fishtank because then it's like the movie finding nemo. It needs to stop because these striped fish might not be at the Great Barrier Reef in a few years time. Remember, it's just a movie so stop taking these fish you would not like to be taking away from your family and kept in captivity with know clue where you are. People knocking on your tank everyday. No one would like this to happen to them, so stop doing it to the fish.
Tourism thousands of people visit this amazing landmark every day and the fish are constantly under threat you are not meant to touch or evan try touch them like Miss Vander Voort did imagine swimming around having a good day them the next minute your scared to death were ten times bigger than then this is not a human habitat its the fishes home stop visiting the Great Barrier Reef let the fish live without being scared.
I hope you learned something today and if you can help save this Reef cause if you don't there might not be a Great Barrier Reef anymore remember don't scare or touch the wild life and stop scarring these amazing creatures because if we don't all the marine life might move to other places like they have already started to.
