PROJECT EXPERIENCE
CRUD WEB APPLICATION OCT - DEC 2022
- As part of a 10 person team, created a job application tracking app using the agile method, ensuring the completion of a working prototype within 3 months
- Helped to design and plan the user interface and key features to implement, considering the potential needs of real world clients
- Collaborated with 2 other team members to create an effective CI/CD pipeline through GitHub that included generating documentation and testing, cleaning and prettifying code, and managing pull requests
- Met with team members each week, utilized daily stand-ups and GitHub project features to communicate updates and issues across the team, and created videos and reports to relay sprint statuses, learning the development life cycle
MACHINE LEARNING MODEL COMPARISON APRIL - JUNE 2022
- As a team of 5, we compared the performance of 6 different supervised
machine learning models on predicting heart disease
- Soley set up a logistic regression model with polynomial features using Python
libraries, tuning hyperparameters to compare performance
- Gained a deeper understanding of the use cases of various supervised machine learning models and their accuracy depending on the type of data available and what kind of outcomes they’re predicting
DATA ANALYSIS OF HAPPINESS AND SOCIETAL FACTORS OCT - DEC 2021
- Spearheaded a team of 4 students for a data analysis project where we picked
and cleaned a dataset and then used polynomial/multiple regression in Python
to test a correlation between a country’s happiness and various societal factors
- Through our regression modeling, we confirmed our hypothesis that there are statistically significant and strong relationships between more tangible, resource related factors, such as GDP, and happiness versus more abstract ones, such as generosity that did not produce any strong correlations
- With an inexperienced group, I took up a leading role and learned to navigate coordinating meetings, setting defined goals for the team, and ensuring the active participation of all members
