Banquet & 5/6 Meet Results

The T&F Banquet is Wednesday, May 24 ~ 6PM ~ Aronimink Country Club - Taco Buffet Dinner, Gluten Free Options will be available.

TEAM DUES GIFT - T&F LANYARDS

It has come to my attention the lanyards sent to practices be given out weekly during the season were not all delivered to the athletes.  The Booster Club will have the lanyards at the banquet as well as the Spring Tshirts.  There will be a table set up to assure all athletes get the laynards owed and if they have not picked up their Spring Tshirts they can do so that night.

FUNDRAISING

THANK YOU to everyone who made Rita's Fundraiser a HUGE SUCCESS!

COACH CARBERRY CORNER ~ SATURDAY 5/6/23

It’s fair to say both boys and girls programs had monster days out in Ardmore on Saturday. As expected, most athletes are rounding into the fitness level necessary to compete well on the League, District, or State level at this time of year. High temperatures and no rain were exactly what our kids needed!

On the boys side, Calvin Jordan retook the #10 spot on the 100m list from teammate Colin Grimes, running 11.12, his personal best, followed closely behind by Jonah Brown (11.48). Jordan finished second overall for the event. Our next silver medal went to Charlie Henderson in the 400m, a much needed personal best and confidence booster (51.18). The 1600m was a large success with the trio of Aidan Max (4:31.48), Nathaniel Kluge (4:31.55), and Parker Warkentine (4:35.66) finishing 1-2-3, all in lifetime bests. These results still stand just outside the District qualifier of 4:28.24, but all have hopes of buying another week. Brendan Wahlers took home a third place medal in the 110mHH, but his 300mIH time of 42.86 moves him #6 All-Time in Conestoga history. In his first season of competing, sophomore Rehoboth Teshome finished 6th overall in the Triple Jump, but more importantly, landed himself at #7 All-Time in Conestoga history. Albert Levin had a huge personal best in the Javelin (114’11”) and Zac Costas added over 3’ to his personal best Shot Put (34’5”). The best performance of the day went to sophomore Patrick Barausky in the Pole Vault, clearing 13’0”, winning the event, moving to sole position of #3 on the All-Time list, and qualifying for the District I 3A Championships on May 19-20.

On the girls side, Lila Ziegler cracked the 26 second barrier in the 200m, running 25.81, her personal best and good for #29 in the District. Tory Gauthier also broke through her 200m personal best barrier and ran 26.54, good for 11th overall. Ziegler came back in the Long Jump with a massive personal best of 6”, jumping 17’5” and took third overall in a loaded field. In the 1600m, freshman Julia Snyder ran nearly a seven second personal best (5:45.98) to finish 9th overall. Senior Natalie Haracz put together a League qualifying 3200m race (12:18.95) and took second place. Freshman Rheeya Sudhagar polished off a great first year campaign with a personal best 17.66 100mHH performance, good for #8 on the All-Time list. Freshman Nicol Bovanova had another big (Triple) jump in personal bests, landing at 33’3”, moving to #9 All-Time in Conestoga history, and surpassing her coach on that list. Reese Oakes, in her first year of throwing Shot Put, takes home third overall, throwing a new personal best of 30’6.5”. That performance climbs her to #3 All-Time in Conestoga history. The best performance of the day goes to the girls 4x100m relay of Tory Gauthier, Fure Abhulimen, Angelina Pierce, and Lila Ziegler. This group placed third in a very competitive field and their time (49.00) vaults them to #3 in our school’s history. At the moment, this group stands at #7 on the District list.
