The Breaks Interstate Park Commission is seeking quotes for tree/brush removal services.

All respondents must comply with the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity requirements and, upon request, must supply documentation of compliance to the Commission.

I.        PURPOSE

The Commission requires tree/brush removal services. The successful offeror will be offered a contract to provide said services based on the scope of work description below.

II.        SCOPE OF Work

The successful offeror will work directly with the Park Superintendent and Director of Operations to clear brush and trees which have already been felled on approximately 10.8 acres of land, broken up between 14 different areas, ranging from 0.1 to 2.5 acres in size. Brush/Trees must be chipped. Wood chips can be blown back onto right of way for decomposition.

This RFQ does not commit the Commission to enter into an agreement or to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a proposal or in any subsequent negotiations. Acceptance of a proposal by the Commission is not a notice to proceed. The Commission reserves the right to refuse any and all proposals.

The Commission will utilize a selection committee to review all proposals for services, conduct any interviews, and obtain references as appropriate in evaluating the qualifications of the responding applicants. Briefly, proposals will be evaluated on the following:

        l .        Qualifications and expertise of the applicant relative to this type of work;

  1. Expertise of key personnel;
  2. Quality of performance of similar work;
  3. Ability to complete the work in a professional and timely manner; and
  4. Ability to meet regulatory and statutory compliance requirements in a timely manner.


Fully responsive _proposals will contain the following information:

  1. Description of insurance coverage pertaining to liability/property damage. Successful applicant will be responsible for meeting insurance requirements of Commonwealth of Virginia.
  2. Price quote and estimate of time for completing the work. Work is time sensitive.
  3. Site inspection can be scheduled by calling 276-210-4655 or by emailing All questions must be submitted in writing via email.

You may also include other information that you believe would assist the Commission in determining the appropriateness of you for this work.

For consideration, one (1) copy of the proposal must be received not later than 4:()() p.m. on December 2, 2019. The submittals are to be marked on the outside "Proposal for Tree/Brush Removal.” All submissions must be mailed and received by the deadline and addressed to:
