Recap of November
- “Cans of Kindness” A Month of Giving - ongoing collection of canned food and non-perishables until Dec 17th - This project is led by our Student Council with support from Ms. Katartzis, one of our guidance counselors, and the PTA. Our school, as well as I.S. 250Q, are collection sites for donations that our local Assemblyman, Sam Berger, will be collecting at the end of the donation period.
- Turkey Distribution - This year, Pomonok Residents Association was kind enough to let us partner with them for Turkey distribution this year. The giveaway was on Nov 20th at QCH Pomonok Community Center. Half of the families that signed up came to redeem their turkeys. We look forward to strengthening our partnerships with Pomonok Residents Association!
- Balloons Over 201 Parade - Thank you to the families who participated in the arts and crafts family engagement. They colored our Thanksgiving banner for the parade! And thank you to the families who came out to watch and cheer on our students!
New Business
- Our Holiday Fundraiser this year is Krispy Kreme Donuts - if we do not meet the minimum order of 50, we will return your money. We have incentivized the sale; students who sell 5 or more boxes of donuts will be invited to a pizza party! If you need an order form, please come see us!
- School Spirit Wear - We have a webstore! The site will go live next week.
- Picture Day - photos were sent home last week. Google form available for re-take and absentees. For those wanting re-take, the original photo package should have been returned to PTA on Monday, Dec 8th. If you do not return it, your child will not sit for re-take on Feb 9, 2026.
