JOB DESCRIPTION

We are working closely with an international reinsurance company who is seeking an UNDERWRITING AVP WITH 5+ YEARS EMPLOYER STOP LOSS (ESL) UNDERWRITING MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE. This position will be based in your choice of Minneapolis, MN or Kansas City, KS.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• reporting to the CUO, you will grow, lead, and mentor a world class group of ESL underwriters towards continuously increasing profitability of the ESL portfolio
• continuously improve the ESL underwriting processes in compliance with the organization’s underwriting standards and best practices
• be both proactive and vigorously reactive to identifying, diagnosing, and treating customer concerns
• collaborate with pricing actuaries and other stakeholders to ensure models are accurate, reliable, flexible, and complete
• conduct customer communications and ongoing market and regulatory research to ensure the organization’s ESL products and underwriting operations lead the competition
• promote the organization’s ESL value proposition and product separation both internally and externally

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• 5+ years ESL underwriting management experience
• 5+ years working in a collaborative, diverse, distributed work environment
• willingness to travel up to 30% if required by business
• excellent command of English, both written and oral
• excellent business social skills

WHAT GIVES YOU AN EDGE:

• 3+ years Pricing Actuary experience
• 5+ years working in a diverse, global, virtual team environment

Compensation and Benefits

• $130K - $200K  (USD) base compensation depending on qualifications + up to 30% bonus
