II.    Overview of the Book of Mark

  1. Mark is the second book of the Gospels in the New Testament
  2. Author is John Mark, disciple of Jesus Christ
  3. Jesus is presented as person, worker and servant.  Jesus is on the move as teacher, healer, and servant.  More miracles in Mark than any other Gospel
  4. Themes of Mark include Jesus, as son of God; servant, miracles and spreading the Gospel
