Types of Devices Issued to Students

To the best of our ability, the following types of devices will be issued to students participating in the take-home program:

Summer Take-Home for Students in Grades 6-11

NEW for the 2025/26 School Year

To simplify the Chromebook Take-Home program and extend access for secondary students, those in grades 6-11 who participate will now keep their Chromebooks over the summer. This allows continuous access throughout the current school year, over the summer, and into the following school year, provided they meet the participation requirements by the first day of school. Previously, students were required to return their Chromebooks before the school year ended, unless they enrolled in the Summer Chromebook Retention Program. Families who prefer their student to not keep the Chromebook over the summer can update their selection to “Participate & Return Chromebook A Week Before Finals” in the Chromebook Take-Home Participation section of the Back to School Check-in or My Information in MISTAR by May 1. Any student who will no longer attend P-CCS must return their Chromebook, always-on case, and power adapter prior to leaving the district.

Participation Requirements:

Please note, throughout the multiyear 1:1 program, many district-issued devices assigned to students are not new and may not have a manufacturer warranty. Students and families have five (5) school days upon receipt of the device to report, by email, any pre-existing faults or defects to their school’s technology support team; otherwise, any issues reported or discovered afterwards will be covered by the deposit or ADP policy.

By selecting to participate in the 1:1 Chromebook/iPad program, you, as parent/guardian, are requesting for your student to participate in the program and acknowledge that you have read and agree to all of the information stated above, as well as the following:

If you do not want to participate in the 1:1 device program, please select “NOT Participate in Take-Home Program” in the dropdown menu under the Chromebook Take-Home Participation section of the Back to School Check-in or My Information in MISTAR.
