Regular Board of Education Meeting Minutes

Tuesday, October 21, 2025

  1. President Bob Travis called the meeting to order at 6:28PM.    

  1. Pledge to Flag.

  1. “Our mission is to encourage everyone to see and be their personal best through successful learning experiences. Become your best!"

  1. Janell Bohn moved, seconded by Kathy Tournour to approve the agenda and consent agenda as the order of business.  Motion carried.  

  1. Tony Backhaus moved, seconded by Aaron Martell to approve the following.  Motion carried.

  1. Minutes of September 16, 2025, Board of Education Meeting.
  2. Financial report for the period July 1, 2025, through September 30, 2025.
  3. Bills for the period of September 1, 2025, through September 30, 2025, in the amount of $2,294,318.36

  1. Board and District Leadership Team strategic planning:

  1. Legislative Update – Superintendent Scott Stier presented a legislative update to the Board and community.

  1. Finance, Buildings and Grounds:

  1. Aaron Martell moved, seconded by Tony Backhaus to approve the certification of the 2025 – 2026 school district tax levy. Motion Carried
  2. Dan Stienhardt moved, seconded by Kathy Tournour to approve the 2025 – 2026 final budget. Motion Carried.
  3. Dan Steinhardt moved, seconded by Aaron Martell to approve the snow plow bid for the 2025 – 2026 school year. Motion Carried
  4. Aaron Martell moved, seconded by Janell Bohn to approve gifts and corresponding adjustments. Motion Carried

  1. No one spoke during the period of public participation.
