First of all, thank you so much for your time and consideration in commissioning me! It is deeply appreciated. Below is an explanation of my process, conditions of hiring me, your rights as the client, and other important details and terms of service.
Please read through all of the information carefully before we begin solidifying details. Thanks!
We’ll talk over the details of what you’d like illustrated and will require payment upfront, by invoice only, before any work is started.
In this phase it is necessary that you have visual references of your character and a rough idea of what you’d like (unless this is an *artistic liberty illustration).
I then make a series of thumbnails based on those details. These thumbnails will help me in figuring out the various aspects of the piece (i.e. gestures, composition, scene/setting, motion, etc.).
You will not be shown this phase unless requested.
After a thumbnail is chosen, the next phase is a rough sketch. It’s more detailed than a thumbnail, but still loosely showing what your piece will look like with very simple details. You’ll be given a work in progress (WIP) shot of your piece during this phase and throughout each phase after.
This phase allows for any adjustments and edits you would like, even up to re-drawing the rough sketch completely if necessary.
This phase revolves around cleaning and refining the rough sketch. In this phase I adjust and review every element of the piece, add details and generally clean everything up for the next phase.
Once you’re satisfied with the clean sketch, I move on to the linearting phase. In this phase I refine the piece even more and make the lines and details finalized and properly fleshed out. I will only allow a maximum of two (2) major edits at this stage (with the exception of artist error).
After I’ve completed the lineart, I then move on to coloring the piece. This phase allows me to make sure that every marking is placed correctly and color is to your liking.
No more WIPs will be provided after this phase is complete. Any edits (with the exception of artist error) will require an additional charge, with the amount dependent on how large of an edit it is.
The final phase of the process. I make sure that the values and tones are up to my standard and that everything flows as it should. Further detailing usually includes highlights and additional refining. No WIPs are provided during this phase.
Once completed, you’ll receive the full resolution file and my utmost gratitude for working with me!
When in doubt PLEASE don’t hesitate to ask before initiating a commission. I am comfortable with a wide range of subjects. However, there are some other subjects I have less experience with, and thus may prove more difficult for me. Finally, there are other subjects that I am uninterested in illustrating. This section is for clarification of my “not safe for work” (NSFW) illustrations, my general work preferences, and my professional talents and limits.
✔ Subjects I am experienced in and willing to work with:
Anthro/furry, human/humanoid, NSFW, fanart (varies—please ask beforehand), plants, tentacles, monsters, gore, substance use, science fiction, fantasy, horror, nature
◌ Subjects I am inexperienced with, but willing to consider:
Mechs, vehicles, complicated armor, complicated architecture, quadruped, transformation, reference sheets, vore, inflatables, anatomical genitals, overly complicated backgrounds/scenes (especially those featuring 4+ characters), nsfw quadruped, comics
✖ Subjects I’m unwilling to consider:
Sexist/racist/transphobic/homophobic or any other imagery that is intended to offend or advocate hate, NSFW or suggestive images of underage characters
Those are my preferences, but I am flexible and open-minded. When in doubt, never hesitate in asking if there’s something specific you have in mind, especially if it isn’t listed here! There are always exceptions, and there are certainly quite a few things that I didn’t make note of above.
The Fine Print: You’re breathtaking.
