PRIORITIES

1. Developing legislation to implement the Mauna Kea Management plan. He has spent the past six months in meetings and a report is being prepared.

2. School capital improvements. In the last few years, there were hospital improvements (e.g., Hilo Hospital). He is looking at a new building at De Silva Elementary because a new subdivision is being built and population is expected to increase. De Silva is “already busting at its seams.”

3. Bridge repairs. In his district, there are three old bridges, such as Kolekole Bridge, in need of attention.
