Mycological Data Listing

The checklist-I |Plant-associated Ascomycota based on Mr. Erio Camporesi's collection (2013-2021)|

Since 2013, Ph.D. students, researchers, and expert mycologists in the CEFR group have studied numerous Italian Ascomycota and they are still studying taxa from different Italian provinces. These amazing discoveries of novel taxa, novel hosts, and geographical records of Ascomycota have been published in different scientific journals. We aim to provide additional value to those great efforts by compiling scattered data regarding their biology, ecology, and geography. Therefore, here we are providing a checklist of plant-associated Italian Ascomycota based on the preference of modern researchers to find out the data by a simple search.

Guidelines

In checklist-I, the fungal classes, orders, families, genera, and species are listed in alphabetical order. The recently accepted classifications for Ascomycota and Species Fungorum (2022) were followed to update the current taxonomy with relevant synonyms. Fungal species are listed with their reported reproductive morphs, such as sexual or asexual morphs, and these are represented by the letters "S" and "A” respectively. The host plant species or genus where fungi live, the collecting dates, and the provincial location(s) where the fungi were collected are provided. The provinces are abbreviated from Arezzo (ARZ), Bologna (BOL), Cosenza (COZ), Firenze (FIR), Forli-Cesena (FOR), Modena (MOD), Parmae (PAR), Perugia (PER), Pesaro-Urbino (PES-URB), Ravenna (RAV), Rimini (RIM) and Trentino (TREN). A total of 877 microfungal records are listed in this checklist under Arthoniomycetes, Dothideomycetes, Eurotiomycetes, Lecanoromycetes, Leotiomycetes, Sordariomycetes, and Ascomycota genera incertae sedis.

The checklist - II |Fagales-associated Ascomycota from 1873 to 2021

In this checklist-II we have retrieved data from 308 published sources (scientific journals, books, book chapters, and databases) on Fagales-associated Ascomycota from 1873 to 2021. This updated account is provided with current taxonomic resolutions by following the accepted outlines of Ascomycota.
