The COVID-19 vaccine is free and available to anyone age 12 and up who has not yet received it.  The Calhoun County Public Health Department (CCPHD) and Grace Health will be offering vaccination opportunities at BCPS school locations over the next several weeks:

• Tuesday, July 27: 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., Northwestern Middle School (176 Limit St.)

• CCPHD is offering the Pfizer vaccine for ages 12 and older and Johnson & Johnson, by request, for those 18 and older.

• Thursday, July 29: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.Battle Creek Central High School (Spirit Field located at United Way and Champion St.) during the Healthy Living Carnival. 

• Grace Health is offering the Pfizer vaccine for anyone 12 and older, along with free athletic physicals, ear and eye exams, carnival games, free food and more.

• Tuesday, August 17: 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Northwestern Middle School (176 Limit St.)

• CCPHD is offering the Pfizer vaccine for ages 12 and older and Johnson & Johnson, by request, for those 18 and older.

• CCPHD, located at 190 E Michigan Avenue, also offers free vaccines by appointment Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m. until noon. To schedule an appointment, call 269-969-6363.

We are currently finalizing plans for the 2021-22 school year.  While the plan has not yet been presented to the Board of Education, our top priority is to make sure that all BCPS students are able to safely attend full-time in-person school in the fall, following recently released guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).  

We would encourage as many students who are able to do so to get the COVID-19 vaccine before the start of the school year to help slow the spread of the virus in our community so we are able to return to school safely.  If you have questions or concerns about whether your family should consider receiving the vaccine, please reach out to your medical provider.
