The Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough

District Chromebook/iPad User Agreement

1.        I understand that any District owned device(Chromebook/iPad) loaned to a student is the property of the Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough (District) and that this device and any programs and files on it may be reviewed and/or inspected by the District at any time.

2.         I understand that the terms of the District’s Acceptable Use Policy and the Student Handbook pertain to the use of this Chromebook/iPad, regardless of its location on or off of school grounds.

3.         I understand that I may use this Chromebook/iPad for educational purposes only.

4.         I agree to not install or download onto this Chromebook/iPad any software, programs, or Apps that are not specifically authorized for installation or download by the District.  

5.        I agree to not remove any programs or files from this Chromebook/iPad.

6.        I agree to keep all passwords and/or accounts that are issued to me secure, and I will not share this information with other students. I agree not to add passwords or restriction codes to this device.  I agree to not use any other student’s or teacher’s passwords and/or accounts.  

7.        I understand that this Chromebook/iPad may be synched only with the administrator’s computer at school.  I agree that I will not attempt to sync this Chromebook/iPad with any other computer.

8.         I understand that the care and charging of this Chromebook/iPad are my responsibility.  I will keep food, beverages and liquids away from this Chromebook/iPad. I will not attach stickers or any other personalization items to the device.  I will not leave this Chromebook/iPad outdoors.

9.        I agree to promptly report any technical problems with this Chromebook/iPad to the school.

10.         I agree to promptly notify the school if this Chromebook/iPad is stolen or vandalized and will assist in providing information relating to the event to the school to the best of my ability.

11.        I acknowledge that parents/guardians shall assume financial responsibility for any loss or damage to this Chromebook/iPad resulting from misuse or negligence on the part of the student and/or parent/guardian. I also understand that I may purchase additional insurance coverage.

12.        I understand that this Chromebook/iPad and its accessories are on temporary loan and must be returned at the end of the school year unless one of the following conditions applies: it is a dedicated device for a student on an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or before I withdraw, transfer or graduate from the Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough.
