VPN Update and Securly Instructions (Spanish/Chinese)


Update
: VPN will no longer be required for SFUSD Verizon Innovative Learning School (VILS)  iPads. The VPN icon in the picture below will no longer be displayed on the upper right hand corner. In the past students were required to filter their internet through SFUSD’s VPN, but now SFUSD has transitioned to using Securly for content filtering. For more information on Securly, please visit  www.securly.com.

What now?

When students go to a website in the Safari or Chrome browser app they will now see a screen load asking them to log into Securly with their Google Account (see image on the right). They should just click “Login with Google” and type in their username (Example: JoSmith@s.sfusd.edu) and password.

Note:

If you are experiencing issues with VPN or Internet access on your VILS devices, please perform a factory reset on your iPad by following the following steps:

Go to Settings  > General > Reset > Tap Erase All Content and Settings

Your iPad will be reset and you will be prompted to choose your language and country. Next log into your choice of home Wi-Fi, school Wi-Fi, or Cellular LTE service. Type your SFUSD username (WITHOUT @s.sfusd.edu) and password to log in. Finished, now you will need to download your school apps from Self Service and log into Securly on your browser.
