Course Description: This class provides students with the opportunity to learn and move through a developmentally appropriate and sequentially planned physical education program that is aligned with the Wisconsin Physical Education Content Standards. Working cooperatively to achieve a common goal is an emphasis throughout the various content and activities students will participate in. The focus of this course is the development of movement skill combinations and movement skill knowledge; the assessment and maintenance of physical fitness to improve health and performance; the application of sociological concepts, including self-responsibility, positive social interaction, and group dynamics in the learning and performance of physical activity.

Soccer | 10 class periods | - Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of basic soccer vocabulary and rules of the game.
- Students will be able to demonstrate the ability to combine foot dribbling with other skills in 1 on 1 practice tasks.
- Students will demonstrate mature kicking and punting in various soccer lead up games.
- Students will be able to demonstrate receiving a pass with the foot using a mature pattern as both partners travel.
- Students will be able to pass with the feet using a mature pattern as both partners travel.
- Students will be able to apply basic offensive and defensive strategies and tactics in invasion lead up games.
- Students will combine manipulative skills and traveling for execution to a target.

Fitness Testing
| 5 class periods | - Students participating in the FitnessGram assessment will gain a better understanding of their own health-related fitness.
- Students will have a better understanding of health related components of fitness, specifically aerobic capacity, body composition, and muscle fitness.
- Students will be able to analyze results of fitness assessments, comparing results to fitness components of good health.
- Students will be able to reflect and discuss ways to help strengths be maintained and areas of weakness tested be improved.
- Students will be able to determine and identify daily warm-up routines as they compare to the five areas of health related components of fitness.

Basketball

Roller Skating

- Students will practice skating forward using V-steps
- Students will practice slowing down and stopping using the T-stop

- Students will demonstrate their understanding of the rules of boundhall through class discussion and game practice
- Students will participate in a discussion of how boundball is a great lead-up game to the game of volleyball, which will be played next year

Intro. Frisbee Throwing/Disc Golf
| 7 class periods | - Students will understand and be able to execute different types of frisbee throws with reasonable accuracy in practice and in small-sided practice tasks
- Students can catch from a variety of different trajectories
- Students will learn about the game of disc golf (layout of course, safety, how to play, how to score)
- Students will participate and demonstrate proper etiquette in games of disc golf while competing with other members in their group

Kickball
| 5 class periods | - Students will demonstrate proper understanding of field dimensions and foul territory
