La Plata County Good News Jail & Prison Ministry Chaplaincy Support Team (CST) exists to support Chaplain Dennis Reimers from Bayfield who serves as Chaplain to all faiths in the La Plata County Jail. They provide bible studies, personal bibles and study guides, a 3,000 volume library, one-on-one counseling, worship services, reading glasses, and referrals to GED and substance abuse counseling. We serve as pastor to all the inmates and staff. We are always looking for volunteers to serve in the jail in a number of rewarding service capacities. We also need volunteers to help us raise support in the community for this service to the jail which is not supported by any state or county taxes.
