Coming Together Across Differences

July 14, 2024

As UUs, diversity has long been at the center of our faith. Yet sometimes we can have disagreements that can test us. We’ll hear reflections on the June General Assembly, interacting with very different UU congregations and delegates. Then for this special summer Action Sunday, we will all be together for a single activity.

Worship Led by: Hanju Kim

Music by: Bev Morgan, Jen Bahr-Davidson

WELCOME:  Hanju Kim

LIGHTING THE CHALICE:

We come from many places—

along different paths, bringing different truths.

We come with different histories & different realities,

And yet we come together as one people—

with faith that we can use our differences

to heal ourselves, and each other,

to bring wholeness to a fractured world.

May our lit chalice remind us that we are

a people taught by different stories,

with many voices but always one people,

working for a world where love creates justice,

and justice gives birth to peace.

We will make sandwiches, decorate lunch bags and add notes with messages of hope and joy. In the Social Hall, for all ages.
