2024 Metro Rules
- If your roster has more than 3 players from the previous year's winning roster you must move up a division or you will be subject to protest. Men’s A and 35+Lower is 2 years in a Row
- Balls: Hit your own Worth or Dudley GSL, WSL or USSSA Stamped Ball (available @ RCW) ( $8 each, 3 for $23, 6 for $45, and $70 a dozen) No Rock, No Trump, No Super Duper, No Stadium and No Hardcore.
- Batting: Bats will be provided by Easton/ Miken and Worth for all divisions (PRO PLAYER BATS (in Open Men’s, womens, coed, 35+ only) may be in the bucket from other manufacturers, we have a list of these professional players from each manufacturer) Both teams are allowed to swing whatever is in the provided buckets at the time of their game. If you bring a bat in the dugout or spray the bat with any substance, an out will be assessed (NO SPRAY ALLOWED OUTSIDE OF THE DUGOUT). IF YOU SLAM THE BAT ON THE GROUND, SLAM IT IN THE BUCKET or THROW IT IN ANGER YOU WILL BE EJECTED FROM THE GAME. If THE BAT BREAKS, YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE BAT - $250
- Hitter/DHH will NOT be used in Metro play.
- Count: 1 & 1 count, No Free Foul.
- Stealing: Stealing will NOT be allowed in 2024 Metro.
- Courtesy Runner: 1 time per inning (may run for the same batter in the same inning multiple times) (2 in the 35+ division). MANDATORY RUNNER for pitchers in all divisions. (The same courtesy runner can also be the mandatory runner for the pitcher in the same inning.)
- Protest fee is $150. Rule protest must be before the next pitch is thrown. Player protest must be before the game is over.
- There will be a double coin-flip to determine the home team at the beginning of the game. Home team will be determined by a coin toss. In the championship game the undefeated team will have the option.
- Ejections:. Any coach or player ejected for physically touching an umpire or tournament official will be disqualified from the tournament. Any illegal player playing illegally will be disqualified from the tournament. Any team playing an illegal player will forfeit the game the player participated in.
- Any player or coach ejected for any other reason than above may be made to sit out the next game in that division upon umpires discretion of the seriousness of the infraction.
- Pitching will be 5-10 with faking. The mound is at 50 feet. Pitchers will toe the rubber.
- Run Rule: 20 after 3, 15 after 4, 10 after 5.
- Men’s Open Run Rule is 20, 15, 12
- Home Run Allotment: Open 10 then outs
A- 8 then outs
B- 6 then outs
C- 4 then outs
D- 2 then outs
E- 1 then (inning ending)
E Rec- 0 (inning ending)
Women Open- 10 then outs
Womens Mid - 5 then outs
Women Rec- 1 then outs
Co-ed Open- 5HR Total (Then Outs)
Co-ed Mid - 3HR Total (Inning Ending)
Co-ed Rec- 1 HR Total (Inning Ending)
Masters 35+- 5 then outs
35+ Lower - 3 HR (Inning Ending)
25 and Under - 3 HR (Then Outs)
Masters 50+- 4 then outs
Church- 2 then outs
Industrial C- 2 then outs
NO CONFERENCE PLAYERS MAY PLAY IN ANY DIVISION EXCEPT:
- THE OPEN, WOMENS OPEN, COED OPEN and 35+ Upper
THESE RULES MAY BE MODIFIED OR CHANGED AT ANYTIME BY THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE IF DEEMED NECESSARY.
