Langley Field Lacrosse Meeting Minutes
Thursday, January 26,2017
Held at: Â Willoughby Community Center Room 3 @ 6:00 p.m.

- President’s Report – Alex
- PCFL Meeting: in regards to call-ups, players must have 3 games played in the regular season in order to be called up to play in Provincials.
- If a player is out for 6-8 weeks from being hurt, they will need a doctor’s note and will have had to have played half of the season in order to be able to play in Provincials.
- Any policy changes need to be in to the PCFL by February 20th, 2017
- New West is on board for the U9 jamboree this coming weekend.
- Vice-president’s Report – Nathan

- PCFL Meeting: the girls teams have Provincials on the Family Day long weekend – Burnaby forgot to book the fields so it is being split between Burnaby and New West.
- There was talk about tiering in U11/U13 divisions – Tier 3 would not be able to play in Provincials
- Regina Villaneuva has stepped down as president of Vancouver – Mike is the new President.
- Richmond has a new president as well – D. Cowan
- April 8 – special session for Field Directorate
- Feb 4 – U7 Jamboree
- Feb 18/19 – U11 tournament in Coquitlam.
- $1500 grant has been awarded to Richmond for the Canada 150 year Celebration
- Treasurer – Kelly
- We have about $12,000.00 in the bank at the moment. Â Field time is now paid in advance.

- All coaches clinics have been taken except for one coach.
- Equipment and Jerseys – John
- Field Allocation – Wendy
- We saved money with the field closures due to the snow. Â We were able to utilize the fieldhouse for some teams.
- Ridge is using out field and they need to be billed for the field time. Â
- Any TBR games need to be completed by January 29/17 – exhibition games can be played up until Feb 4/5.
- Webmaster to do up a FAQ section for parents on Field lacrosse.
- Coaches/Managers’ Liaison – Cindy
- Gaming Grant money can be used to help fund teams traveling to Provincials. There are also other options for teams to use: Lacrosse on the Move and KidSport Canada are two options.
- Girls Field Lacrosse - Kathy
- New Business
- Daniel Lowes had the idea of having a Lacrosse Festival for the 150 year celebration – exhibition games for U7 up to the Masters division.  We would tie in the First Nations. We could use Yorkson field too as it is lined for lacrosse.
- Wendy will see if there are any dates available for the 150 Celebration and Rust off/try it sessions for field.
- Daniel also presented the idea of changing the organizational structure of box and field. Box passed a motion to explore if a new combined structure would be beneficial.
- How would it affect gaming grants – Sandra says we would lose the Field side of the gaming grants.
- Another suggestion was to have scheduled meetings between box & field  quarterly.
- There is concern of burnout if we merge and become one.
- Sue Rahe’s parents have been storing the LAX signs – would we be able to send them out to dinner as a thank you? Kellie will follow up with this.
- Kellie asked if other leagues post their meeting minutes. We direct enquiries to the Secretary for any copies.
