Our center participates in Adopt-A-Highway cleanup twice a year. The statewide Adopt-A-Highway program was established in 1988 and is a joint effort between community volunteers and the NC Department of Transportation to keep our roads clean. JSCNC adopted a stretch of Highway 54 in Cary between Morrisville Parkway and Airport Boulevard. This stretch is named in honor of Mr. Lalit Banker.
Our tradition continued this October with enthusiastic volunteers lead by Pritesh Shah! A few captured memories in this link: Highway cleanup 2019 pictures
JSCNC is a proud participant and one of the sponsors of Greater Triangle Area Crop Hunger Walk 2019.
The JSCNC team, led by Mr. Ajay and Mrs. Jayshree Shah, has been participating since 2008 . This year We had about 50+ walkers from the JSCNC team, and our members donated over $2100 towards this great cause.
Here is a very nice video made by Rajen bhai Doshi around this years event, enjoy and get inspired!

A reminder that we have taken on an initiative around meeting lunches going forward - For leftovers we have two options:
Option 1: The person responsible for a particular dish takes leftovers back home
Option 2: We will collect the leftovers and deliver it to NCSU students
Food served during monthly meetings and special events has played a vital role in building our community over the years. It has enabled us to spend quality time to learn Jainism and socialize with other fellow Jains without having to worry about our usual lunch/dinner planning that day. This wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and monetary donations from several individuals. We are extremely grateful for their efforts and thank them for their continued contributions.
Please contact our food coordinator, Mr. Rajan Chheda @ (978) 408-7284 for any questions / details.
