Reports to: Board of Trustees Supervises: Staff and volunteers
Job Summary: Sets the course for managing the library and its services. Leads and motivates the team of staff and volunteers to produce results that ensure the sustainability of the library in its five-town community. Is active as a visible advocate for the library in the community. Envisions the library as a vital community resource and adjusts services and the environment to respond to community needs.
Essential Job Functions:
Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program preferred. Management and supervisory experience required. 3-5 years of experience working in a library or non-profit organization preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: In addition to the expectations of excellent communication and problem-solving skills, possesses the ability to translate plans into action. Ability to promote and market the library. Grant-writing experience is required. Ability to experiment and serve as a change agent. Works effectively with a wide range of people. Skilled in social media and office productivity software.
Duties require intermittent light to moderate physical effort in carrying, lifting, or moving light-weight materials or equipment.
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
