Dear Tiger Families,

I cannot believe we are only five school days away from our planned winter break! This semester has been very unpredictable; however, I am so very proud of our students and staff for adapting and overcoming the challenges we have been handed.  Even with all of the proactive measures we have put into place, I am sad to announce COVID-19 is greatly impacting our District students and staff. Due to the amount of students recently put on quarantine, and how close we are to the upcoming holidays, Wellsville-Middletown R-1 School District will pivot to virtual learning beginning tomorrow, December 16th through Tuesday, December 22nd.  The following information will help you and your child navigate virtual learning until December 22nd.

Breakfast/Lunch

A breakfast and lunch will be available on 12/16, 12/17, 12/18, 12/21 and 12/22 between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.  Meals will be available at the cafeteria/gym entrance at WMR-1 and at the Middletown Community Center parking lot.  On Friday, Buddy Packs will be available to students during the same time as the meal serving time.

Student Expectations for Virtual Learning

Students are responsible for logging into Google Classroom daily and for checking school email.  All assignments will have specific due dates that students will be responsible for during virtual learning.  If students are in need of connecting to the internet, wireless internet is available in the parking lot and parent pick-up/drop off loop at the school.  Wi-Fi is available at Middletown Baptist Church in the parking lot.  The password for access in these locations is public16.

Elementary students who have not returned their Chromebook agreement will need to have that in place to take their Chromebook home.  Please call or email to make arrangements to return your child’s signed Chromebook agreement.

Junior High and High School Students will have a virtual learning schedule that is different from their regular school schedule.  Please monitor school email for this schedule.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we navigate COVID-19 this school year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Erin Oligschlaeger
